- Blogging has become a huge trend in the market place, but a blog with no engagement does not as much value. If brands are going to spend time publishing, it is important that they are doing it the right way, so that consumers are interacting. Focus on posting interesting, keyword driven content. This can also mean participating in off-page SEO, and posting links to your blog in other relevant streams that already have high engagement. For example “this is my spin on this”, with a link to your blog.
- The days of brands telling customers about how great their products are is coming to an end. Nobody likes to be sold, but everyone likes to buy. Instead of boring your existing/prospective customers to death, inform and excite them. Digital marketing is a great channel for brands to talk to their customers, not at their customers.
- Video and picture engagement has continued to rise across the board with digital marketing, and this trend will continue in 2015. We are visual beings. Expect funny, interesting, human content.
